Visa Certificates

At Eira Hospital, we issue medical examination certificates for work, studies as well as long-term residencies. The instructions below apply to visa applications to the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Before coming to the examination, please find out what type of visa you are applying for in your destination country. The visa type affects the content and cost of the examination.

Please bring with you all of the following documents:

1. A valid passport (no photocopy) that was used to apply for a visa to the destination country.
2. ID of your visa application , e.g.:
   USA: casenumber
   Canada: IME or UMI number
   Australia: HAP id or TRN number
   New Zealand: NZER or NZHR number
3. Up-to-date vaccination records in paper form for all the vaccinations you have received (not required by Australia and New Zealand, recommended for Canada). If they are not provided, we will consider the vaccinations invalid and they will need to be renewed. Please note that we may not be able to arrange vaccinations during the medical examination appointment, in which case a separate vaccination appointment will need to be scheduled.

4. For the electronic visa medical examination (emedical), you must have your photo taken in advance at Fotolafka, located at Kasarmikatu 26, 00130 Helsinki.
   K1 visas (USA fiancé(e) visa) and U.S. non-immigrant visas require bringing 6 physical passport photographs to the medical examination, as the examination is recorded on a paper form.

The photos are paid at the studio and delivered directly to Eira hospital.

If necessary, the required vaccinations for the visa certificate are provided. There is a chance not all vaccinations required by the USA may be administered during the same appointment. In addition, adult clients will have necessary lab tests and X-ray imaging taken. The examinations, photos and vaccinations will be charged for in addition to the physician's fee. The certificate is ready approximately two weeks after your visit.
